Best Practices
- Visual First: Instagram is a visual platform - high-quality images are essential
- Hashtags: Use up to 30 relevant hashtags to increase discoverability
- You can put them in the caption or first comment
- Mix popular and niche hashtags for best reach
- First Lines Matter: The first line of your caption appears before "more", so make it compelling
- Call-to-Action: Include a clear CTA, especially in the caption or first comment
- Location Tags: Add location tags to increase local discoverability
- Tag Accounts: Tag relevant accounts to increase engagement and reach
- Timing: Post when your audience is most active (check Instagram Insights)
- Stories: Consider sharing your post to your Instagram Story for additional reach
Content Types That Perform Well
- Behind-the-Scenes: Show the human side of your brand
- User-Generated Content: Repost content from your customers or community
- Product Showcases: Highlight your products in creative ways
- Tutorials: Share quick how-to content
- Quotes: Inspirational or industry-relevant quotes
- Lifestyle Content: Show how your product fits into daily life
- Carousel Posts: Educational content or storytelling across multiple images
Instagram Reels
For video content, consider using Instagram Reels:
- Length: Up to 90 seconds
- Format: Vertical video (9:16 ratio)
- Engagement: Reels typically get higher reach than static posts
- Music: Add trending audio for better discoverability
